You want to try being successful…

. . .first become successful at being.

I had so much fun on this adventure, experiencing the ups and downs of direct sales and social marketing, I share what I’m doing with as many people as I can, then hope they make a choice to purchase.

It’s kind of similar to writing I suppose, a writer does something they enjoy doing so very much and then they hope that what they wrote becomes as enjoyable reading it as writing it. In the marketing business those of us that are brand new to the industry are mentored, groomed, and led, by leaders that have experienced the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and have become successful by working towards it and by simply being themselves and sharing what they are passionate about. I have a feeling this way of life has been around since the cavemen created the first wheel then sold their wheel to others, ok, so I love the comic strip titled B.C. by Mastroianni and Hart, it is one of my favourites, but the point is, there are always things that are out there that someone needs or wants and it takes someone else to share them.

That takes me to the part about being successful, this is a part of the adventure that is all up to the individual, success cannot be bought, I believe it must be earned, and it should be appreciated because you have earned it. The definition of success will vary with each that seeks it, for some it is simple, as in passing a test or meeting a challenge or goal, for others it becomes more involved, by striving to be the best you can be at whatever you are doing.

In this industry success involves work, it means getting out of bed EVERY morning believing in you, believing that you can do this, believing that you are strong enough, proud enough and willing enough to accept all the challenges, appreciate the ups and learn from the downs, it involves believing in the products you share, whatever they are, from widgets and whatnots to household and wellness products, you need to use them, enjoy them and present them with a passion, the people you are sharing with need to believe in you before they will look at what you are sharing.

So, my friends and faithful readers, let me thank you for helping me enjoy what I love doing by reading what I have written, and for those of you that are just starting out on a new adventure, any adventure, believe in you and success will follow. Carve out that perfect wheel for you and roll with it.

If you wake each morning with your biggest smile and say that you believe

Then success will greet you where you are and good things you will receive.

Being real in the world you live . . .

. . .means the world to those you live with.

Life is an adventure, at least it should be, from the minute you arrive in the world drawing your first breath to the minute you leave it, exhaling your last. All of those years in between are spent watching, listening, learning and living, following paths either naturally predestined or contrived on a whim. There is not just one path, in fact most human beings have so many paths to follow they lose count by the time they reach thirty something, which might I add, is around the same time some will experience a “Mid Life Crisis” ( I have never really understood why it is called a “Crisis” when really, it is just a change of direction)

What is this real I speak of all the time, well, real is just as it sounds, being happy with who you are and what you are doing with your life, being happy believing in what you choose to believe in, and being happy to live and let live, the old-school mantra. I share this today because I recently started an adventure on a new path, a path that involves sharing a product I believe in, and not like all of the other products out there that use MLM to market their products, this company is designed to grow with everyone’s happiness in mind it was easy to get started. I, like all the other hopeful new home business entrepreneurs began by first sharing with my friends, and at this point I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of my friends for being so patient with me as I learn the ropes, like where the fine lines are and how to approach without being aggressive.

I will succeed in this little business because I believe in it, and I promised myself I would stay real, I will share it with everyone I know, and everyone I don’t know (eventually) and I will leave the decision up to them, they will see first my real happiness my real results and then my success, they will see my little books on the shelves in the book stores because of my success, and they will want to duplicate the same happiness and success, because they choose to. I go to bed every night knowing there are now a gazillion people (I am not even exaggerating there) that have heard about my books.

I am not greedy, I would like just one percent of all these people to share in the joy I am living, you all have the chance to make the choice in life to be real, and my path will lead me to each and every one of you… (eventually)

Make this day real because you believe in you.

Seeing is a part of believing. . .

. . . and believing can help you to see.

I never would have believed had I not have seen with my own eyes the support from somewhere I have never been. Thousands of likes with each new post from so many wonderful people, most of which are in the Philippines, and most of which make my smile even bigger.

With each new post I move forward, it gives me a chance to share with the world where I am in my adventure, and as a writer, I need to believe in what I write, I need to know someone, somewhere will read it and smile, so believe me, when I see so much support from so many people I find new light and new hope for not just myself, but for other aspiring authors and writers. This has to be more than a dream, you need to take that step to make it a reality, commit to yourself, “see” yourself succeed at whatever it is you are doing, share your progress, your adventure with the world and know that out there somewhere there are others just like you, waiting for that little spark of inspiration.

As I write this, the effects of a recent visit with my Editor Rachel Small, has filled me with new found excitement and enthusiasm, her energy and her passion for what she does, along with her ability to polish my word hugs and make them just that much warmer, has given me that little bit of extra inspiration. I have increased my drive now to find a sponsor or an investor to help with my task of printing and releasing Series Two of BawB’s Raven Feathers to the world.

Enjoying the pebbles that line your path. . .

. . .make the milestones seem so much bigger.

I am not sure just how to begin, suffice it to say that over the last four weeks I have grown in so many ways. The blog pages I have written and sent to the Universe have been seen, read, and liked by over Ten Thousand wonderful people in the Philippines, so I can actually say, that what started as a little page has grown into something bigger.

I take the time to write these pages because I believe if I don’t write them nothing will happen, and if I do something might happen, I choose the positive, I choose to be seen by as many people as I can get, to look at what I’m doing, I choose to make an effort towards making my happiness happen, after which I choose to accept the success that follows. We all have the vision, we can all see what is in front of us, sadly, some of us choose not to look, if a door of opportunity appears we walk away, choosing to believe that nothing will happen.

I am now in the position where I can create doors, I can give people options, things they can choose for themselves. People can now choose to buy my little books and fill their lives with positive energy, they can wake up seeing a smile in the mirror and they can be happy.

If you continue to inspire the Universe. . .

. . . the Universe will continue to inspire you.

 

I woke this morning to begin a typical day, I let my little dog out, grabbed a coffee (I program the coffee maker for 5 AM so the coffee is ready for me) and I sat down in my office to write my morning inspiration, https://www.facebook.com/iambawb                                                                     the beginning of a typically wonderful day at BawB’s house.

 

My day was soon to change, for the better. I found myself needing to pursue with a bit more aggression the distribution of my little books, I am doing pretty well here in Calgary, but that is just not enough, I needed more visibility. So, off I go on my quest, first stop IBPA https://www.ibpa-online.org to click on the resources tab to find a list of distributors and wholesalers.

 

I made my selection, and then began writing an introductory/query letter to introduce my books and myself and begin a new adventure. While I was writing my letter I thought it might be a good Idea to include a review or two that I have received to help promote the sincerity I am trying to generate with these companies.

 

This brings me now to the Universe part of this new adventure that brought a tear to my eye, again. While I was searching for a review I found this most recent one I had not yet seen on Google:

I added it to my letter and I wanted to share it with You because the Universe shared it with me.

 

I am so very proud of these little books, and so thankful for all the people involved in helping me create them… and of course for all of the readers that are enjoying them…my adventure continues.

 

Don’t ever give up my friends, keep writing, painting, drawing and creating, then share with the world what you have done, share your pride, share your tears and your laughter… and for the absolute joy of being you and doing what you do, share your smile in the wind.

 

Happiness is not just something you imagine you can be

It is found by letting yourself image that you are.

What happens in a writers life. . .

. . .when a writer has nothing to write?

 

Well in this writers life it seems the weeks between the time the files for a book are uploaded to the printer and the arrival of the books are the longest weeks of your life. Now you can double the anticipation if it is December and you are hoping the books make it for Christmas, and believe it or not, you can triple the already overwhelming anticipation if you throw in something new, like a beautifully designed slip case that is going to enclose the five volumes of the first series of books you have published.

 

During these weeks that take forever, I find I am productive non the less, tweaking files for the paperbacks at Ingram Spark, chatting with New Shelves to make sure everything is in place for smooth and worry free distribution, planning a launch locally (without setting a time or place until I have my book in hand) creating a Pubslush campaign and a give away on GoodReads, submitting an entry to the Indie awards, posting inspirational quotes on Facebook every morning, trying to Tweet more and all without becoming a pest to those that share my path. Waiting can sometimes bring out my over anxious behavior when I have too much time on my hands.

 

So you want to be a writer, well for goodness sakes write, and when you think you have nothing to write about, I for one will know why. I speak from experience when I say you probably have more going on when you are not writing, then when you are fully immersed in the creation of your story. The tricky part is to find the time in your hectic life to sit and share what you are doing with the world, and to promote the calm non-stressed energy that the world thinks a writer emits… hehehe 🙂

Patience is not just about waiting. . .

 

. . . it is also about believing.

 

I never would have believed my little books would ever go this far, if you would have asked me two years ago what my future looked like, I would have smiled and said one day at a time.

 

My recent giveaway on Goodreads just closed and I had over 500 people show interest in winning my recent hard cover edition of BawB’s Raven Feathers Vol IV, to me that is the most wonderful feeling you could ever imagine. To me it means that 500 people are interested in my energy, my smiles and my thoughts. To me that’s what writing is all about, sharing feelings, creating emotion and inspiration, creating a smile from inside and watching it spread to the world.

 

I say “to me” a lot because everyone is different, to some 500 may not be enough, to others it may mean nothing, but as I said, to me, it means the world. Moving forward I will take this positive energy and continue working on Volume V of the series, I will continue to think my thoughts of what’s next, and plan the pages of my next writing project. Possibly down the road there may be another 500 people waiting to share my smiles, so for them I will write my thoughts, my word, and share my smiles, one day at a time.

 

Thank you to Goodreads for helping me share my little books, and Thank you to all the people that entered the give away, I hope the winners enjoy reading my words and sharing my smiles. I hope my book family, the team of wonderful people that have helped me continue to create such beautiful books never tires of hearing me say Thank you to them, I don’t believe I can ever thank them enough.

 

To those of you out there that have just started to write, let your mind create, fill the pages with your words, fear not what may appear around that next bend, instead create the next bend, and the outcome, create your path then share it, find the people to answer the questions you have, use the tools others offer.

 

To those of you that have written your books and filled your pages with wonder, thank you for offering the tools I need to learn. Yes I am patient, yes I believe in me, and yes I will continue to work at sharing my thoughts with the world, because to me, the thought of a world full of smiles is worth smiling about.

Most important is to believe you are going in the right direction, believe you are going to grow and believe in you. What ever you have chosen to do, do it well, do it with a smile, learn from it and share your knowledge of it.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, talk to people that have been to where you are going, ask for help or guidance, it’s ok to be lost occasionally, life doesn’t put up direction signs, but life will open doors of opportunity along the way. Pay attention, walk with your head up and look at the horizon, that text message can wait, life’s  “once in a  lifetime” opportunities will not.

You will find balance living in today. . .

 

. . .between yesterdays memories and tomorrows dreams.

 

As the New Year dawns, do you have expectations, plans, goals, or are you one that lives comfortably day-to-day? There really is no right or wrong way to live, I believe as long as you can look back and smile at your accomplishments, and your failures, then you have lived comfortably for yourself. I have lived a monumental year, I have met wonderful new people, I have had adventures on my motorcycle and in the camper, I have written 55 blogs, 300 status updates, shared laughter and smiles with friends, and yes, I have published my first book.

 

I look back on 2012 with more than just a smile; I look back with appreciation for everything I have experienced. My biggest thrill was seeing what a dream looks like in reality, actually holding on to something that I never imagined could happen, and then having it accepted and supported by others.  I look forward to the New Year and hope I can keep the energy flowing in such a positive way. I am having so much fun sharing with you my experiences, and my feathers of life. I hope to inspire, motivate and impress on as many people as I can, the importance of believing in you.

 

In this last year we have had 366 chances to live for today, how many of those days can you actually remember? Do you have new memories stored away? And have you attached a smile to any of them? Have you learned any lessons, or failed any challenges?  Did you give yourself credit for trying, or pat your own back because you made it through? For the New Year that approaches are you making resolutions, are they obtainable and realistic, are you thinking positively? Will you dream of what might be and reach for a star or two? You will have 365 chances to live for the day this year, and I wish for all of you the best in each and every one of them.

 

With heart felt appreciation I send a shout out to Michelle for being at my side, to Jordy for listening and helping me create, to all of You for reading my words, and to my book family, Rachel, Carrie, Beth, and Greg for encouraging me. It’s going to be a wonderful year as our adventure continues.
